萬芳醫院泌尿科主治醫師石宏仁強調，世足賽開踢，民眾不管在家或在運動酒吧，總免不了喝上幾杯助興，但啤酒含有草酸、普林，經代謝會成形成尿酸，如果再配上肉類或海鮮等高蛋白質食物，就更容易形成尿酸結石。
尤其，夏天本來就是泌尿道結石好發季節，因為大量流汗、同時水分又攝取不足，醫師提醒民眾必須多喝水，且每日排尿量要達到一天2000cc才能有效預防。
至於網路盛傳「喝啤酒利尿有助排出結石」究竟有沒有這回事？石宏仁提醒，這屬於「似是而非」的觀念，因為酒精確實會利尿，可幫助結石排出，但同時酒精又含有高濃度草酸，如果長期將啤酒替代水喝，將攝取過多的草酸，碰到體內的鈣時會結合成草酸鈣結石，反而導致結石情況更嚴重。
石宏仁指出，輸尿管大小約為0.5cm，若結石小於0.5cm，只要多喝水及排尿即可將碎石排出；但結石若大於0.5cm且阻塞明顯，恐導致腎水腫，造成疼痛，須以體外震波碎石或由經尿道輸尿管內視鏡取石術治療，建議民眾還是勿貪杯，酌量飲用。
